Whether it’s health-related content or tips about fashion, YouTube is a useful resource millions of people turn to. Alongside watching comical cat-themed content and listening to controversial podcasts, there is also a strong community of gaming YouTubers who upload regular videos for gamers.

They’re certainly a large population of people to please. In fact, according to Newzoo’s Global Games Market Report, the global gaming community is estimated at around 3.31 billion. For YouTubers in this area, there is therefore a huge amount of content they can release to a massive range of gamers who enjoy playing games in their spare time.

Whether you’re keen to watch reviews on the latest Call of Duty game, find the best gaming accessories for your PC, or want to learn how to play blackjack, the sheer amount of gaming-related content on the platform is mighty impressive. It’s a popular category of entertainment with so many layers to it, making it one of the most thriving subject matters on Google’s American online video-sharing platform.

Why YouTube?

Of course, there are other platforms like TikTok and Instagram that can cater to gaming audiences, but YouTube appears to be a preference for many. Through our smartphone devices or smart televisions, dipping in and out of various uploads is easy, while many people don’t want to read thousands of words when they can soak up bite-sized chunks of valuable information on a platform that tends to house videos for around 10 minutes or so. It’s also free to use, with people everywhere getting lost down YouTube wormholes, given the diverse range of content on the platform. Overall, for gamers seeking the views of fellow players, YouTube is the place to go. There are also some highly successful YouTubers on the platform.

VanossGaming has over 25 million subscribers

Sharing Black Ops content, golf-related gaming uploads, and a variety of other material, VanossGaming’s 25.9 million subscribers make him one of the biggest YouTubers in this arena. A massive community of gamers watch him play an extensive selection of top games, while also serving up some moments of hilarity with his friends playing along with him. A YouTuber since 2011, Evan, the man behind VanossGaming, is clearly doing something right.

Markiplier is one of the biggest

If you thought VanossGaming’s 25.9 million subscribers was impressive, then Markiplier has an even bigger population of people who hang on his every word. Run by Hawaiian-born Mark Fischbach, the channel has 36.7 million subscribers, all of which can’t seem to get enough of the YouTuber’s documentation of his play-throughs of a variety of leading releases. A likable personality who is fun to watch and clearly has a passion for gaming, Markiplier’s quirkiness and unusual fashion sense add even more appeal to his content. A safe place for gamers to watch content around indie games and horror releases, the comments section on Markiplier’s uploads tends to contain various views and even interactions with the man himself. For gamers who regularly watch YouTube, Markiplier is easily one of the best content creators around.

A selection of other big gaming YouTubers

While both VanossGaming and Markiplier are two of the biggest players on YouTube, they aren’t the only major names gaming audiences rely on. Jacksepticeye has over 30 million subscribers, with the Irishman’s likable personality and comical value pulling in gamers from around the world. DanTDM is another well-liked face on the platform, with the English YouTuber currently having 28 million loyal viewers to his name.
