PlayStation 5

Even though the PlayStation 5 (or PS5 for short) came out back in November of 2020, we still can’t get over how amazing the console is. Sony really stepped up their game when they created the PS5, which was definitely way ahead of its time and it still is even today. Since we live in the era of the internet, it is super easy to get a PS5 online and you can throw in a bunch of digital games too!

All you need is a blazing-fast internet connection that would allow you to get a PS5 as conveniently as possible, so it would be smart to look into Xfinity internet bundles which would help you get an internet connection well within your budget. If you are still skeptical about getting a PS5, we’ll list down a few reasons why you should get one.

Hopefully, by the end of the article, you might even add the PS5 to your online cart. So make sure that you read all the way to the end for a better insight into the PS5.

1. The Price Tag

First off, we will talk about the price that you can get the PS5 for. Since the slim model is relatively new, we will keep that as a point of reference in this article. If you get the PS5 Slim with a disc drive, it would cost you $500 and the digital edition that comes with no disc drive would cost you $450.

However, if you choose to get a digital edition and plan on using discs later, you can also get an attachable disc drive for $80 but remember that this would cost you more than getting a disc edition PS5, so choose wisely. The change in price from the PS4 to the PS5 is a difference of $200, but it is definitely worth the investment once you see the features that the PS5 has.

2. The Improvement in Graphics

One of the many noticed things in video games is the graphics. There are games such as Red Dead Redemption II that leave a mark in history because of the beautiful graphics that they offer. Another reason why you should get the PS5 is because of the enhanced graphics that it offers.

As compared to the PS4, the PS5 gives you twice the output when it comes from a graphics perspective. Where the PS4 offered an 18 CU GPU, the PS5 gives you a 36 CU GPU which gives it more capabilities when it comes to graphics such as Ray Tracing. The PS5 also comes with 10.3 teraflops of graphics as compared to the PS4 which only has 1.84 teraflops. For output, the PS5 can easily give you 4K or 8K resolutions, depending on how much your screen can support.

3. A Better Sound System

How would you make the best out of your experience if you don’t have a good sound system while you are playing your favorite games? The PS5 comes with a 3D sound system called the Tempest engine that works perfectly once you play games with headphones on.

This makes the experience as immersive as it could possibly be, making sure that you can pinpoint the exact location of where your enemies are. Imagine playing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and you can hear exactly where your enemies are attacking you from. This even works for enemies that are above or below you. So be sure to invest in Sony’s Pulse Audio headphones designed especially for the PS5 for perfect noise cancellation and the perfect gaming experience!

4. Greater Storage Capacity

One of the most important things in a good gaming console is the storage space that it provides you. The PS4 used to have an average storage of 500GB, that too in HDD. People had to buy expandable storage through external hard drives or had to buy the more pricey 1TB variant. The HDD faced slower loading times but the experience wasn’t really that bad.

However, with the PS5, Sony has addressed that too as they have incorporated a 1TB SSD into the PS5 Slim and an 825GB SSD in the original model, both being NVMe and ensuring that the write speed is as fast as it could possibly be. Not only does this give more storage space but also makes sure that the load times are nearly non-existent. Games like Spider-Man 2 and Ghost of Tsushima have almost no loading times while Spider-Man had around 60 seconds of load times on the PS4.

5. Backward Compatibility

Now if we mention this and you still wouldn’t consider getting a PS5, then we would definitely be pretty disappointed. The PS5 comes with yet another convenient feature commonly known as backward compatibility. Do you remember how you could play your favorite PS1 games on your PS2? That is exactly what backward compatibility means.

You wouldn’t have to be worried about selling off your favorite PS4 games, whether they are discs or digital. That is because you can play them flawlessly on your PS5! Isn’t that cool? You can play prequels such as The Last of Us and Spider-Man before you head on to their sequels!

Ending Note

The PS5 is definitely Sony’s best creation yet. With the futuristic DualSense controller, haptic feedback, adaptive trigger, ray tracing, and a lot more, the PS5 is the kind of investment that you will never regret. So make sure that you join the bandwagon too and make the best out of your gaming experience!
