Adding Photos, Text and Backgrounds


1. Fizara Album Designer accepts JPG or PNG files. PNGs should be 8-bit and non-interleaced. No TIFF, EPS, PDF, PICT, BMP, and GIF files.

2. Images should be in RGB or Grayscale (sRGB recommended; no CMYK).

Yes, you can create either a single page background or two-page spread background. Simply drag an image from the image library (located at the bottom of the screen) to a white space on the design area, then release the mouse button. A dialog box will prompt you to choose how to drop the image as the background.

Designing and Layout


1. No matter which cover type you’re planning to order, make sure that you keep important content of the image, at least 1/4 inch away from the edges to make sure that you don’t get that content trimmed off.

2. To visualize, first setup the grid by View > Setup Grid and set spacing to 18 pixels (i.e. each grid is 1/4 inch). Turn on the grid by View > Show Grid. Use your mouse to drag the image and/or zoom in/out to adjust the image’s position within the cover frame.

3. Be sure to keep important content at least another 3/4 inch (i.e. 1 grid when spacing is set to 54 pixels) away from the left edge as the leather material will partially cover left side of the image during album assembly.

Yes, you can create either a single page background or two-page spread background. A dialog box will prompt you to choose how to drop the image as the background.
The cover image frame cannot be resized or removed in Fizara Ablum Designer. That is because the cover image may print poorly when the frame is resized. You can, however, move the mouse cursor to the center of the image, click and hold the mouse button to pan the image within the locked cover frame, in order to change the visible part of the image. You can also zoom in and zoom out to adjust the image size.
1. If there is any open project, save and close it.
2. Select Photo Albums > Create New
3. Choose a type of photo album. (For example, 14×14 Acrylic Cover Album (Square).)
4. Click New Album Wizard
5. Select a theme from a variety of styles for your album
6. Follow the onscreen suggestions to select number of pictures from your hard drives.
7. Preview the pictures and re-order that you selected.
8. Optionally, you can create a caption for the first page. The front cover caption is disabled even though it appears to be a default option.
9. Finish and the New Album Wizard will automatically populate the selected images according to the theme of your choice.
If you want to create a page layout that you can reuse with other album, this feature is for you.

Arrange the picture frame(s) on a single page with the help of the built-in tools such as Layout > Distribute Pictures orLayout > Alignment.

For precise control, right-click on the picture frame to bring up the context menu > Position and Size. Adjust the position and size to your liking. When you are satisfied with the page layout design, go to File > Save Page As Layout.

To quickly locate your custom design, go to the panel on the right side, open Page Layouts pane, use the pull down menu above to narrow down your selection based on the number of picture frames you have designed.

After you have located your page layout, simply drag and drop it for reuse in other album design.

Fizara Gift Cards


Once you have the album(s) you want to order, proceed through the checkout process. On the “Shopping Cart” page, find the field marked “DISCOUNT CODES“, enter your gift certificate number (for example: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-ABCD). Do include those hyphens in between.

Once you’ve entered your code, click the “Apply Coupon” button to see how much, if any, is still owed for your order. If you have multiple gift certificate numbers, you may apply each number one by one. If the gift card’s balance is bigger than the cost of the order, no credit card information is required, and you can proceed directly to confirming your order.

If you’d like to check the remaining balance on your card, you can look it up here. You will need your gift certificate number and PIN which is sent to you by email.

You can always see how much is left on your gift card by looking up Check Fizara Gift Card Balance page. You will need to enter the card number and PIN which you will have received by email when ordering your eGift card or when receiving it as a gift from someone else.

Previewing and Printing


Yes, and Fizara Album Designer can help you identify the design problems before sending it to print.

Image resolution
Use File > Preflight/Preview to bring up the Book Validation Report. Its main purpose is to identify the low resolution images. As a rule of thumb, a 150 DPI image should print fairly well, while a 300 DPI image should look just as good as a traditional photograph.

Do you want to know whether your contents will be trimmed near the edge of the page? Check View > Show Bleed to reveal where your pages will be trimmed during album production.

The first thing you will notice is the black borders. Any areas beyond the black borders will be trimmed. If you want a full bleed image on your page, be sure to arrange your photo so that it completely fills the page and shows no background at the edges.

The area beyond the black border, seen when View > Show Bleed is turned on, shows the area that will be trimmed away during the album production process.

In addition, all four of the page edges may be trimmed by another 1/5 inch. To avoid important part of the image being trimmed during album production, first set up grid by View > Set Up Grid to be 15 pixels (approximately 1/5 inch). Then View > Show Grid to reveal the grid. Try to place your image such that important part of it stays at least 1 grid away from the black border.

Ordering and Shipping


It takes 4 to 5 business days to produce photo books, and 10 to 15 business days to produce a professional grade flush mount album. Once your order is shipped we will send you the tracking number so that you will know when your album will arrive at your door. You can also check to see if your order has shipped by logging on to your account’s Order History on Fizara Albums Web Store.
Once you have finished making your Fizara Album design, click File > Preflight/Preview to bring up Book Validation Report. If everything looks good and there are no low-resolution warnings, close the report and click the Send to Fizara button. This will initiate the process of preparing your project file to be uploaded to our server. You will be able to preview your project file before your purchase is completed.

Once your project file is created, a dialog box will come up where you will be able to view your project file in a format as it will be sent for printing. It is highly advisable that you proof your project files at this stage. Check for typographical errors, fonts used, missing or low quality images, or any element that may not be displayed properly on the page―anything that does not look right to you.

Once you have examined the files for errors and are satisfied, click the check box at the bottom of the dialog box and chooseContinue to upload your order to our server. Once the order is uploaded, you will be directed to a shopping cart.

The shopping cart page is where you can choose from a variety of cover materials, gilding options and companion albums. You can also preview how the cover image would look like if your album is of acrylic cover or cameo cover. Review the pricing of your album prior to ordering it.

Ground shipping to all destinations in the continental USA is FREE for orders over $150, or a low flat rate of $9.99. The cost for international or faster delivery is figured based on the shipping speed you choose. To get a quote of the cost for other shipping options, enter the quantity of albums you plan to order, the country and zip code of the shipping address on the shopping cart page during checkout. Then click “Get a Quote” button, the shipping cost estimator will show the cost to ship your album(s) based on the country and shipping method you choose.
Yes, we ship worldwide. We can ship your album or photo book to any country in the world. Please be aware that our prices do not include any import duties or local taxes like VAT, GST, PST, etc. Purchasers are responsible for any import duties or local taxes if any are assessed by your country’s authorities at delivery. No US taxes are applied to international orders.

Fizara Album Designer


You can do either. Your options are unlimited. You can design your own layouts from scratch, or choose from hundreds of pre-designed layouts. You can even choose one of our pre-designed layouts and personalize it as much or as little as you like. You can then save the custom layouts you create to use in other projects.
Absolutely not! We give you unlimited freedom. Every element is customizable including layouts, fonts, colors, overlays, spreads, etc. You can crop, fade, apply filters, to your images, and create your own grid for precise layout, etc. You can place photos or text anywhere on your page at any size, angle or transparency. You can create collages, have several layers of images and text, use any font style or language installed on your computer, add pre-designed frames, flourishes etc. Select from dozens of page layouts, book themes, borders and background designs. It’s your book, so
build it your way.
You can use any jpeg, png, gif, tiff, bmp or Photoshop files.
If you leave blank pages in your album design they will print as pure white pages. If you don’t want them to be white, you have several options for changing the background like adding a solid color or textured background. Blank pages can be handy for guest books, shower books, yearbooks, or any photo book where you want to leave room for people to write on.
Yes, absolutely, and Fizara Album Designer will check it and help you identify any design problems before sending it to print.
Yes, you can share your album design by clicking on the “Share Online” button. Anyone you send the link to, will be able to flip through a virtual preview of your printed album on any web browser. You can even share the link on Facebook.
Yes, you can. Just go to the edit menu and click on “Change Book…”
Yes, you can design your own layouts in any program. Simply chose the “Start an Empty Album” option in Fizara Album Designer, and add your layouts to the album before placing your order. Always add an extra 1/8 of an inch (0.125) around the entire 2 page layout to fill the bleed area in the software.
Yes, Fizara Album Designer will give you a warning if the resolution of any of your images are low. To avoid having a picture appear blurry or pixilated when printed, use a larger version of the photo (if you have one), or simply reduce the size of the photo in your layout.
No. The software will resize the images to the appropriate size before creating the production file and sending them to us to produce your product.

To download:
1. Visit the Fizara Album Designer download page, and click the download button based on your system (Mac or Windows).
2. Save the software to a directory of your choice.

Windows Users
Double-click the file MyPhotoCreationLInstaller.exe to install Fizara Album Designer. Follow installation instructions. After installation, Fizara Album Designer will be added to your “Programs” menu, and an icon will be added to your desktop.

Mac Users
Simply unzip the MyPhotoCreationsL.app.zip archive, and drag it onto your Applications folder.

Windows OS
Windows XP and above, 512 MB RAM (1 GB recommended), 400 MB free disk space.

Mac OS
Intel Platform. 512 MB RAM (1 GB recommended), 400 MB free disk space, MacOS Leopard (OSX 10.5) and above.

Projects are managed and saved in the application database. You can Export projects as a stand alone package for backup purposes. You can later import those packages back into the application.

To export a package, select Photo Albums menu and select a project. Then click the “Export” button and follow the Export Project wizard. The package will be saved on your hard drive as a .dlp package

To import a package, select Photo Albums menu. Click the “Import” button, and follow the Import Project wizard.

Canvas Prints – Gallery Wrapped Canvas Prints


Framed and frameless Gallery Wrapped Canvas take three business days to produce.

Please note: orders placed over the weekend are considered received on Monday; the day that we receive your order is considered day zero. For example, if you place your order before 5:00 pm Mountain time on a Monday, your order is guaranteed to ship on Thursday.

Orders received before 5pm Mountain Time are shipped three business days after receipt of your order. Please consider UPS transit time when calculating the approximate delivery date of your order.
Due to our production capabilities and the rigorous schedule that we prepare and follow to achieve our 3-business day turnaround for all customer orders, we are unable to expedite through our production cycle. You are able to upgrade your shipping to UPS Next Day or 2-Day Air at the time of check out.
We use UPS for Gallery Wrapped Canvas Print shipments and charge standard UPS rates. To get a shipping quote, add the items you wish to order to your shopping cart. In your shopping cart you can enter your zip code and select a shipping method to get exact rates listed under “Canvas Shipping” before you place your order. Shipping prices are quoted based on UPS rates from Longmont, CO 80501 to the specified zip code.

NOTE: We cannot ship to P.O. or A.P.O. Boxes

For orders of Mini Photo Prints, free USPS shipping is available. When USPS shipping is selected, each Canvas Mini will ship individually. Tracking information for USPS shipping is not available.

In order to produce the highest quality images, we only accept JPEG (.jpg or .jpeg) files. The minimum recommended resolution is 100 ppi. Optimal resolution is 150 ppi or higher.

When you upload your image, you will be shown an Image Quality indicator. The image quality indicator lets you know if the image you uploaded has the right resolution for the selected canvas sizes. If your image quality is poor, we recommend that you upload a new image with higher resolution or chose a smaller canvas.

NOTE: Though our printers are very high resolution, because we print on canvas, files that are greater than 150 ppi do not provide a discernible improvement in print resolution.

Standard shipping for framed and frameless Gallery Wraps is UPS Ground.

For UPS ground transit times, please see http://www.ups.com/maps/ for a transit time map from the factory zip code, 80501.
Please note: UPS Ground transit time is not guaranteed. The map depicts typical transit times, but these may be affected by volume and weather delays.

Should you select UPS 2-Day or Next Day Air service, please be advised that those service days are limited to business days. UPS does not extend to us a weekend or holiday delivery service. Please feel free to contact us with questions.

Gallery Wrapped Canvas Prints are currently only available in the 25 sizes listed on the product page. Custom sizes are not available.
Each Gallery Wrapped Canvas ships individually in its own box. However they may be consolidated with other canvas gallery wraps when ordered together.
Gallery Wraps are built with a 1-1/4″ thick solid face internal frame to support the canvas and keep it from warping or loosening. Frameless Canvas Gallery Wraps come with pre-installed sawtooth hanging hardware mounted on a solid black backing. Framed Gallery Wraps come with pre-installed hanging hardware built into the frame, along with felt protective bumpers.

NOTE: Hanging hardware will be placed at the top of your image as it appears in the template. Please use the canvas rotation tools as needed to align your image properly.

You can check the status of your order by visiting our website and following these steps:

  • Click “Login” or “My Account” in the upper right and sign in
  • Click “My Orders”
  • Click “View Order” for details
  • Once your order ships, you can click the “Shipments” tab at the top of the order and see a list of tracking numbers. Click on the tracking number to track the shipment.

Note: Tracking is not available for canvas minis that ship via USPS.

We use only premium quality materials in our Canvas Print products. Our canvas, ink, and coatings are formulated to work together to provide the highest quality, longest lasting product available. All materials are continually tested to ensure that color will stand the test of time and last as long, or longer, than any other canvas prints available.
If your canvas gathers any dust, you may wipe it off gently with a clean, damp cloth.
Your Gallery Wrapped Canvas comes with pre-installed hanging hardware. Framed Gallery Wraps come with pre-installed hanging hardware built into the frame, along with felt protective bumpers.

NOTE: Hanging hardware will be placed at the top of your image as it appears in the online tool. Please use rotation tools as needed to align your image properly.

If your canvas does get scratched or bumped during its life, you may choose to conceal blemishes using pigment ink based markers that dry quickly. We recommend Copic, available at art specialty stores.
The sizes listed are for the canvases themselves. The frames add approximately 3/4″ on all sides. For example, a 12″x12″ canvas gallery wrap will be approximately 13 1/2″ x 13 1/2″ including the frame.
With our easy-to-use online design tool, the enhancements available to add to your order are Black & White, Sepia Tone, and Retouching. Please note that the free Black & White and Sepia toning may differ from what you see on your screen.

Image retouching is offered at an additional cost.

With Minor Retouching, check the provided boxes to specify the things you would like corrected. Our retouching experts will fix minor imperfections on your photo, such as:
• Remove red eye
• Remove date stamp
• Remove acne/shiny skin (minor skin imperfections)
• Remove dust or small scratches
• Lighten or darken the image
• Basic color enhancement

For Major Retouching, select the option then write in the provided comment box the specific items you would like retouched and our retouching experts will contact you to discuss your major retouching request. Major Retouching include more extensive corrections or restoration, such as:
• Remove stray hairs
• Remove scars and blemishes on skin
• Remove braces
• Whitening of teeth and eyes
• Remove objects
• Add or remove people
• Restore vintage photographs
• Background removal (solid color replacement)
• Add filter effects

The fully finished Canvas Gallery Wrap is mounted in the frame using a proprietary combination of tension and adhesive. We do not recommend removing your canvas from its frame, or attempting to put a different image within the frame. Fizara is not responsible for any damage done to your canvas or frame by attempting to remove or alter the frame or canvas.
The floating frames are made from recycled plastic. This makes them environmentally friendly, solid, durable, and lightweight.
At this time, we only offer black and walnut finishes.
Yes, we ship to Canada and worldwide. We are currently setup to ship with UPS to the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada. We use UPS Mail Innovations International to ship elsewhere internationally. Please note that orders to Canada and other international destinations have very limited tracking information and may take up to 21 days to arrive.

NOTE: The customer/recipient is responsible for any and all applicable duties and taxes. Products shipping to Canada are duty free but tax may apply (GST, PST or HST). If you have not requested image retouching (available at an additional cost), we will not alter the color in your images in any way. We strive to print as accurately as possible. If you have a high quality, calibrated monitor, we’re confident you’ll be happy with the accuracy of the print.
We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee in regards to the workmanship and quality of materials used to produce your canvas print product. We strive to deliver high quality products based on the order specifications set forth by the account holder. We cannot offer returns or refunds based on flaws in the original image file or decisions made by the user after the order was placed.

Replacements also require our 3-business day production time. The replacement will be shipped under the same shipping service level initially paid for in the original order (i.e., UPS Ground, UPS 2-Day, or UPS Next Day Air).

Reports of shipping or concealed damage must be made within 72 hours of receipt in order to qualify for a replacement.

Photo Prints


Rolled Canvas Prints and Fine Art Paper Prints take three business days to produce.

NOTE: Products that are damaged due to size modification are not eligible for replacement.

Rolled Canvas Prints are shipped rolled in a tube using UPS shipping methods. Up to three Rolled Canvases will be shipped in a single tube. You may choose between UPS Ground Shipping, 2 Day Air, and Next Day Air shipping methods. Rolled Canvas Prints will not be consolidated with Gallery Wraps or Mini Photo Prints.

Fine Art Paper Prints ship flat in a box using UPS shipping methods. Up to three Fine Art Paper Prints of any size will ship together in a single flat box. Fine Art Paper Prints will not be consolidated with Gallery Wraps or Mini Photo Prints.

Rolled Canvas Prints are printed on genuine artist canvas with custom developed, pigment-based ink. Each is precisely cut to minimize fraying.
Orders shipped via UPS will have standard tracking available in the “My Account” section of the website.
Our Rolled Canvas Prints are full bleed. If you’d like to include a border, you will need to design one within your file before uploading your image to our site.
Rolled Canvas Prints can be wiped off gently with a clean, damp cloth.

Fine Art Paper Prints can be wiped off very gently with a soft dry cloth.

Rolled Canvas Prints and Fine Art Paper Prints can be hung with double-sided tape, tacks, or framed. There are dozens of creative ways that you can use a Rolled Canvas!

Note: Prints that are damaged through hanging modification are not eligible for replacement.

The minimum recommended resolution for Mini Photo Prints is 150 PPI. 300 PPI is the optimal resolution.
If you select USPS Shipping (only available for orders of Mini Photo Prints only), you can expect to receive your Mini Photo Print in the mail four to twelve business days after it leaves the factory.

Mini Photo Prints shipped via UPS will arrive within standard delivery timelines. Mini Photo Prints ordered with other Canvas Print products will be shipped using the same ship method, but will arrive in their own box.

When you select USPS shipping (available only for orders that include only Mini Photo Prints), each Mini Photo Print will ship individually – including orders of multiple Mini Photo Prints. Portions of your order may arrive on different days.
You can get a replacement stand for your Mini Photo Print by filling out the Canvas Mini stand replacement request form.
Order tracking information is currently not available for orders using USPS. Orders shipped via UPS will have standard tracking available in the “My Account” section of the website.

For Canvas Mini Prints: If your canvas does gather any dust, you can wipe it off gently with a clean, damp cloth.

For Metallic Mini Prints: You can use a clean, dry cloth to wipe down the surface of your mini. Ensure there are no sharp objects adorned on the cloth (sequins, embroidery etc.) as they will scratch the Metallic paper surface.

Canvas Mini Prints are printed on a finer-weave, high resolution canvas.

Metallic Mini Prints are printed with premium quality metallic paper. The metallic paper surface is not white, so the image may appear darker once printed than it appeared on your screen. The metallic paper is laminated onto a flexible recycled plastic backing, so it is ready to display without a frame.

No. Mini Photo Prints can be used in a variety of ways – including framing, hanging and many more! Please note: Mini Photo Prints that are damaged by modification are not eligible for replacement.
We are currently setup to ship with UPS to the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada. We use UPS Mail Innovations International to ship elsewhere internationally. Please note that orders to Canada and other international destinations have very limited tracking information and may take up to 21 days to arrive.

The customer/recipient is responsible for any and all applicable duties and taxes. Product shipping to Canada are duty free but tax may apply (GST, PST or HST). Tax collection in Canada is at the discretion of the Canada Post. Shipments valued at CAD 20.00 or less move into Canada Duty and Tax free (de minimis).

We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee in regards to the workmanship and quality of materials used to produce your canvas print product. We strive to deliver high quality products based on the order specifications set forth by the account holder. We cannot offer returns or refunds based on flaws in the original image file or decisions made by the user after the order was placed.

Replacements also require our 3-business day production time. The replacement will be shipped under the same shipping service level initially paid for in the original order (i.e., UPS Ground, UPS 2-Day, or UPS Next Day Air).

Reports of shipping or concealed damage must be made within 72 hours of receipt in order to qualify for a replacement.

Flush Mount Photo Albums


Flush mount albums get their name from their difference with old traditional “matted” photo albums with individual photographs surrounded by or under cardboard mats. In flush mount albums, the entire page is a photographic prints mounted edge to edge or “flush” with the borders of the album. Flush mount albums allow you to display your photos larger on the page, or even spanning across the seam onto multiple pages. All of our flush mount albums are printed on museum quality fade resistant photographic paper and mounted to thick, acid-free substrates to create durable, panoramic pages that lay completely flat.

Flush Mount Photo Albums are printed on real silver halide Fuji Crystal Archive photographic paper to guarantee the best color and finest reproduction of details. The photographic pages are then flush mounted to thick acid free substrate to create stability and durability.
Once you place your order, your album is printed, professionally bound and then carefully inspected before it is packaged in a black album box and shipped to you. This process takes 8 to 12 business days in house. Order within the continental US are shipped via Fed Ex Ground, which generally takes from 1-3 business days to most locations east of the Mississippi, and 4-5 business days to the west coast. International orders are shipped via the shipping method you choose during checkout. We recommend DHL which generally arrives within 3 business days.
Ground shipping to all destinations in the continental USA is FREE for orders over $150, or a low flat rate of $9.99. The option for next day or 2-day delivery is available during checkout. The cost to ship international orders start as low as $28.54 to Canada, and $47.10 to other countries. The final cost is calculated based on the shipping method you choose during checkout.

We count album pages the same way the pages are numbered in a book or magazine. A page is one side of the sheet of paper. A spread is a set of pages viewed together, such as the two facing pages visible when you open a book. A page is measured from one edge of an open album to the center, while a spread is the entire distance from one edge to the other. One spread is equal to two pages. Due to the way our album pages are printed, you must purchase two pages (one full spread) at a time.

The pages in our Lay Flat Photo Books are made by mounting two sheets of real silver halide photographic paper back to back. The resulting sheets are 0.5mm thick (thinner than Flush Mount Photo Albums pages, and thicker than Classic Photo Books pages).
