On their wedding day, the bride and groom may be the most important people in the room, but they certainly aren’t the only ones. At any special event, most especially a marriage of two loving souls, there are a few key guests that make the occasion memorable. If you’re aiming for the ultimate wedding album (we’re guessing you are!), remember to include these honorable guests who likely played a huge role in making your special day one to remember.
It All Started With…

There’s a reason you and your soon-to-be wife or husband met, and it all started with two sets of parents who loved each other, then loved you. This one may be a no-brainer, but no wedding album is complete without photographs of the bride and groom’s parents.

Without these couples and their hard work raising two amazing children, your wedding day wouldn’t exist! Your photographer will likely request a few posed photos with the bride and her parents as well as the groom with his, but be sure to ask for candid mom and dad shots as well. You’ll want to remember the emotions, from proud to happy, that your parents felt on the biggest day of your life.

It’s said that friends are the family we choose for ourselves, and nowhere is this more apparent than your wedding day. You and your groom (or bride) have carefully selected your right-hand men and ladies of honor to stand by your side as you say “I do,” and you’ll want to remember the friends who played such important roles on this monumental day. Chances are, it just wouldn’t have been the same without their help!

Best of the Best

There are friends, and there are best friends, and for a life-changing event like marrying your true love, no guest is more important than the friend who keeps you grounded through it all. Of course, your new spouse is absolutely your best friend, but there’s something special about your maid of honor and best man.

These two have been through thick and thin with you, likely even before you laid eyes on your better half, and they each have a rightful place next to you on this important day. Your photographer will be sure to snap a few shots of these crucial wedding party members! Your wedding album, and your wedding, would be incomplete without them.
Help From Below

You may have to kneel down to chat face to face with these little helpers, but that doesn’t make your flower girl and ring bearer any less important. These tiny wedding party additions are just as essential to making your wedding beautiful and emotional as the friends you’ve chosen to stand by your side. This is especially the case if your little lady or gentleman is a daughter or son of the groom or bride. In either case, don’t forget to spend some quality time with your flower girl and ring bearer to remind them how special they are. Bring the photographer along too.

Weddings are celebrated events for all ages, young and old, and sometimes, the most important guests at your wedding are the youngest. As we mentioned, any children of the groom or bride are obviously key on the list for your photographer, but be sure to include quality time with any new family members you may see at your happy occasion. Not only are they sharing this special day with you, they’re learning from a young age how happy and wonderful love can be.

Conversely, be sure to capture some candid photos of the family members at your wedding who have seen their fair share of love. In most cultures, grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles and the like are considered esteemed, distinguished guests at any event, and their attendance at a wedding is certainly worth a few frames!
Have your photographer keep an eye out for your extended family. Photos of their celebration will serve as an excellent reminder of what is to come for you and your new spouse.
In the long run, anyone who chooses to attend and celebrate your special day is a distinguished guest. From long-time friends to family members of all ages, whether they play a part in your ceremony or not, a wedding isn’t a wedding without a plethora of friends and family to stand by your side and toast to the beginning of your new life.
Your wedding album will, of course, include numerous photos of you and your love, but don’t underestimate the power of including a few shots of how happy your marriage made others, even if you’re nowhere near the camera!
