Custom DIY albums aren’t just for weddings anymore! There’s a zillion reasons you could create your own customized, priceless album that can showcase your memories, highlight your professional work or remind you of loved ones. Here’s a couple out-of-the-box inspirations:

An Epic Vacation Album

Showing that giant mountain range to your friend on your cell phone just isn’t’ doing it justice. Imagine if you immortalized those snaps in a beautifully crafted flush mount photo album with a metal cover? It can be on your coffee table forever as a wonderful memory of your experience. Give your amazing honeymoon in St. Lucia it’s own special album, or gift your girlfriends photos from that great bachelorette in Miami. Maybe you had a family reunion in Greece and you want to give grandma an incredible present to remember the trip by. Or, perhaps your kiddos went to Disney for the first time and you want to remember those moments forever. Any time you skip out of town is a great excuse to create a beautiful album.

In Memory

It’s never easy to lose someone you love. Why not create a priceless album of all your favorite photos of someone you’ve lost. You can keep it or gift it as well for something unique to remember a friend or family member by. Or, feel free to make the album with photos of a cherished pet that’s passed to keep in their honor.

A Professional Portfolio

If you are a professional photographer and looking to attract new clients, it was be essential to have an album made of samples. You can pull your best pieces to highlight in a lay flat photo book that customers can flip through when you meet in person. It allows you to make the exact size and amount of pages that work for you. This can also be helpful for those in commercial work who want to bring a book along to interviews and pitches.

Wedding Outtakes

One of my favorite shots from my wedding way was of me in a robe sticking my tongue out at the photographer. Another was a really ugly chuckle that showcased my horrifying loss of neck and crazy eyes. Obviously these might not make it into the official wedding album, but I still would love to keep these hilarious bloopers as a reminder to not take life too seriously. So, why not create a couple’s album of your funny candids? Add in a few of those disastrous honeymoon shots or engagement session photos that didn’t quite make the cut but still make you laugh.
